President's Message

​NESPA: Building a Great Association and Industry

As my tenure as President of The Northeast Spa & Pool Association (NESPA) comes to an end, I cannot help but think that building NESPA and helping to strengthen the pool and spa industry here in the Northeast is truly a work in progress – but it is a structure that is being built on a strong foundation.

We started out the year focused on workforce development and upgrading our training facilities at our Hamilton, New Jersey headquarters. We have made excellent progress on both, yet there is so much work left to do. 

As I pass the gavel, I want to thank our members for their vote of confidence in electing me to head NESPA for the 2018-2019 term. I wish to thank my predecessor Ron Falcioni for all of the help and advice he has given me in his role as Past President this year. I want to thank the rest of my Executive Committee for their help and a job well done including: Vice President, Mitch Katz, CBP, CSP, Elite Landscaping, Inc.; Treasurer, Amy Margaret Rullo, CST, CMS, CPO, Premier Pool Renovations/Aquatic Artistry; and Secretary, Chas Bogardus, CBP, CSP, CPO.

I also want to thank the tireless efforts of the staff at NESPA beginning with Dominick Mondi, our Executive Director, and the rest of his great team.

On a personal note, I thank my wife Amy and my Bel-Aqua “family” for allowing me to devote all the time that I have to NESPA. Thank you Mark Warshaw and Scott Silver. At this time, I also want to remember Martin Silver, who passed away in 2016. Marty, as he was known by so many in the industry, was behind me in every step of my career and a great leader for the entire industry.
