LIPSA Sponsoring Special Olympics
Polar Plunge 11/19/22
The Long Island Pool & Spa Association is once again participating in the Town of Brookhaven’s Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics New York’s Long Island athletes. The Long Island Special Olympics division serves over 5,000 athletes, with a robust and competitive swim team program.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday, November 19th at Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai, New York. LIPSA is encouraging all members to participate by joining the team and plunging or soliciting donations. Anyone not participating is asked to donate to the team on the Brookhaven Polar Plunge website, Team LI Pool & Spa Association or follow this link.
“Long Island Pool & Spa Association is thrilled to continue our long-term participation in support of the NY Special Olympics Long Island program and all it does for thousands of local athletes,” stated LIPSA President Sheryl Heather. “This charity has been transforming the lives of millions of intellectually and physically challenged children and adults since the 1960s. The Long Island program is exceptionally vibrant and well managed.”
