Speaking with One Voice

The Northeast Pool & Spa Association is your voice on legislation and regulations impacting our industry. NESPA GRAC monitors legislative action across the region and represents the pool and spa industry when these important actions are being debated.

NESPA's Government Relations Action Committee (GRAC) brings together dedicated member volunteers and lobbyists on behalf of our members to oppose onerous over-regulation and advocate for our industry. We have important relationships with Federal, State and local officials and are in regular contact to share our industry’s perspective on legislation.

The Government Relations Action Committee consists of representatives from each of our four chapters.  If you have questions about legislation and government regulations contact NESPA at 609-689-9111.

Sheryl Heather Receives 2020 "Above & Beyond" Award

NESPA is pleased to announce that Sheryl Heather has been awarded The Paulette Pitrak "Above & Beyond" Award. This is NESPA's highest volunteer recognition honoring members who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to our association through their volunteer service.

About this year's Awardee:

Sheryl Heather
Spring & Summer Activities | Hampton Bay, New York
Chair, NESPA Membership Services Committee
Executive Committee Member, Long Island Pool & Spa Association

During the pandemic, Sheryl was a tremendous asset to the association. She helped connect LIPSA and NESPA to government officials to ensure that pool & spa work was allowed to continue throughout 2020.

She worked day and night to make the connections needed to get us critical information so that we could move forward as an industry. Without her knowledge and know-how, it would have taken us longer and wasted precious working weeks.

Sheryl has been instrumental in moving workforce development forward in the Boards of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES) of New York State. Her perseverance has enabled LIPSA and NESPA to develop courses for the Adult Education BOCES program in eastern Suffolk County. Once complete, these courses can then be utilized through New York state and our region.

Get to know more about Sheryl by reading her Member Spotlight Profile here. NESPA would like to thank Sheryl for all that she has done and continues to do for the association and the pool & spa industry.

This Award is named after Paulette Pitrak, who served as NESPA's Deputy Executive Director for 24 years before her passing in 2016. The Award was created to honor the boundless energy, tenacity, and compassion she brought to her work for the pool and spa industry. Learn more about Paulette's contributions to our industry.
