Speaking with One Voice

The Northeast Pool & Spa Association is your voice on legislation and regulations impacting our industry. NESPA GRAC monitors legislative action across the region and represents the pool and spa industry when these important actions are being debated.

NESPA's Government Relations Action Committee (GRAC) brings together dedicated member volunteers and lobbyists on behalf of our members to oppose onerous over-regulation and advocate for our industry. We have important relationships with Federal, State and local officials and are in regular contact to share our industry’s perspective on legislation.

The Government Relations Action Committee consists of representatives from each of our four chapters.  If you have questions about legislation and government regulations contact NESPA at 609-689-9111.

How long have you worked in the pool & spa industry?
This is my 21st season

What's one thing - either industry-related or not - you learned in the last month?
This rollercoaster of a month/year will certainly be one for the books. It has taught me that life can sometimes be fleeting, be there for the people I love, and be grateful for every moment.

How has being a part of NESPA impacted your career?
I love the ability to network and work with others to advance the industry.

What was your first industry job?
I was a lifeguard at a local swim club when I was 15.

What is your favorite pool project that you have worked on, and why?
In my current position, I get to work with so many dealers on very unique projects. I had the honor and privilege of working with Matt McMaster from Bennington Pool Services to provide him with everything he needed to help create a beautiful rooftop pool park in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia

What are the key skills or traits a person needs to be successful in our industry?
Hard work and determination is the key to success in this industry; knowing what you want and continuing to work for it. Adapting to constant change is something that 2020 has taught us all.

Tell us about your favorite Pool & Spa Show memory?
At the 2020 Pool and Spa Show, I was given the task to put together the entire booth for Poolcorp. I managed the design, content, logistics, staffing, setup, and takedown of our booth. It was a challenging and rewarding experience to be able to produce something I was truly proud of.

When you aren't working, you are…?
When I am not working, I am either playing pool, target shooting, or spending time outside kayaking or camping. I have a black lab named Jack who joins me on most of my outdoor adventures.

What is something that most people don't know about you?
I am a 2x cancer survivor; 13 years ago today (2/17/2008), I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I have survived both that and Thyroid Cancer.

What's one thing - either industry-related or not - you learned in the last month?
How to use a snowblower, lol.

Who inspires you?
I am inspired by strong leaders and anyone brave enough to stand up for what is right, even when that means standing alone.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Chicken Caesar Salad
