President's Message
Your Road to Profits in 2020 is Through The Pool & Spa Show
Your road to profits and success in 2020 is through The Pool & Spa Show in Atlantic City, January 27-30. Attending this big event will get you and your employees ready for what lies ahead this season. But be strategic about how you and your employees spend your time in Atlantic City.
For example, don't wait until you get to the show to decide what classes that you and your employees need to take. Plan well in advance! Plan today: analyze how you did in 2019, and then seek out specific opportunities to improve upon your performance in 2020.
I understand it can get costly to bring your team to the show along with you, so make sure you do what you can to get the highest return on your investment. Speak in advance about the Show and what you expect your team to get out of it. Set an expectation about getting to classes on time and what you want them to get out of walking the exhibit floor. Walking the floor can be pretty overwhelming for newcomers or even someone who has been to The Show before.
Create a document with specific questions or information you are looking for your team to find while walking the floor. You can make it a game or a competition…like a scavenger hunt. Ask your team to list three products that can help remove copper stains from plaster. Or explain the process of finding a leak in a vinyl liner swimming pool. Focus on things that they'd have to speak with exhibitors to find out.
Plan a time at The Show each day to get your team together to talk about the things each person has learned that day in classes. Have a meeting when you get back from the show to review all the information everyone gathered on the show floor. Make it mandatory.
On a final note, we are always looking for volunteers to help our great association throughout the year. There are numerous benefits to you for volunteering, like networking with your peers and learning from the best minds in the business. When you volunteer at The Pool & Spa Show in Atlantic City, you can even reduce the cost of attending programs. Ask us!
