Unlicensed contractors create problems for consumers, put their employees in harm's way and hurt our industry.  Every company working in the pool and spa industry must follow the licensing requirements in the areas they work.  This creates a level playing field for everyone.

 

Unlicensed contractors hurt the pool and spa industry because

  • they lack accountability 

  • they have a high rate of involvement in construction scams.  

  • they are unfair competition for licensed contractors by offering reduced rates. 

  • they are unlikely to pull necessary building permits

  • they are likely to work outside the code of standards

  • they undermine and damage the reputation of Licensed Contractors
